Project: Stephen Avenue Place – Calgary, Alberta

Full project and construction management consultancy services were provided for the major redevelopment of Stephen Avenue Place, a landmark commercial tower in the heart of downtown Calgary. This transformative initiative focused on repositioning the building’s podium to create a more dynamic and connected public interface along the historic Stephen Avenue Walk.

The role encompassed management of the entire project lifecycle—from early-stage feasibility assessments and stakeholder engagement through to detailed design coordination, construction oversight, and final handover. Using Primavera P6, a fully integrated, resource-loaded master schedule was developed to align key disciplines and contractors with critical path objectives.

The redevelopment of Stephen Avenue Place was instrumental in strengthening its integration with Calgary’s urban landscape and securing its long-term relevance. A central objective was the reimagining of the podium to better connect with the surrounding public realm and activate its presence along the city’s iconic pedestrian route. A formerly closed, concrete façade was replaced with a contemporary, transparent architectural expression that promotes visibility and accessibility.

Significant upgrades were delivered across the podium’s ground, second, and third floors, introducing high-end retail, hospitality, and amenity offerings—including a club-level fitness facility and an executive conference centre. Multiple improvements to vertical circulation were also managed to enhance user flow for the 30,000+ daily occupants and visitors, ensuring seamless transitions between the street level and tower operations.

Through a design approach that balances modern detailing with respect for the building’s heritage—and a collaborative project delivery model—the result is a revitalised urban destination that enhances both tenant experience and the vibrancy of Calgary’s downtown core.
