Total Oil UK – Lindsey Oil Refinery Turnaround (T&I)

Support for the 2006/07 Turnaround & Inspection (T&I) programme at Lindsey Oil Refinery, one of the UK’s largest refineries operated by Total Oil UK. Activities were focused on planning and controls for Area D during this major plant shutdown.

Turnaround Planning Engineers developed and maintained comprehensive Level 4 schedules for all pre-shutdown, shutdown, and post-commissioning activities. Daily communication with site supervisors enabled real-time progress tracking, ensuring the accurate and timely updating of the schedule.

Tailored discipline-specific lookaheads were produced to assist with resource allocation and sequencing across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works. Weekly reporting outputs included S-curves, resource histograms, and detailed progress metrics, providing stakeholders with clear visibility of performance against critical milestones.

Contributions ensured improved schedule certainty, proactive risk mitigation, and effective coordination between multidiscipline teams—supporting the safe and timely delivery of the refinery’s turnaround objectives.
